Yes you are dead. And there is no point in being with your corpse. It is silent and smelly. When you open your eyes there is no recognition. You are dead and kept on by machines. You just lay there, pointlessly, all contorted and crippled. You are lifeless and dull. Even if you woke up you'd be dead.
