Wow. When you compare Miss Congeniality with it's sequel it's quite depressing. Not simply because the sequel is flat and unfunny, but because the political climate now is so different from when the first one was made.

It is interesting to watch the propaganda unfold. And it just goes to show you how unfunny things are.

And there are new things, like gay people and drag queens--which are still depicted in outright stereotypes. It's so funny. It's just like all the fifties movies with black maids who always say "yes'm". At least gay people have exposure--but at what cost? To look stupid? Yep! As long as we're teaching women how to be women! That is our place.

Like it's a woman's place to look like a Parakeet in heels.

And I'm going to say it right here and I don't care how this sounds. But when are black comedians going to find a new schtick that doesn't have to do with black-and-white differences. It's so predictable and racist.

Regardless, the movie has sociological merit. Go see for yourself what the economic gap between rich and poor looks like and female and gay prescriptions as well. Not to mention terrorist bullshit and black-and-white segregational crap.

It's pathetic.
