I have retreated this year. I stopped socializing, stopped dressing well, stayed in for the winter, and didn't bother cultivating friendships.

Instead, I pursued collecting, baking, gardening, and working out my body.

I feel like a seed germinating for a season that will not arrive for three years.

By 30, I should be ready.
